Qvantel has provided the BSS for managing the XL Home offering which has helped XL Axiata to grow their customer base by 316.66%
The PT XL Axiata Tbk (EXCL) Fiber to the Home (FTTH) service, XL HOME continues to grow.
As of Aug 2020, there was an increase in the number of XL Home subscribers by 316.66% and an increase in Homepass by 79.49%.
XL HOME has built a fiber optic network that can reach around 350,000 homepasses. These customers are spread across a number of big cities, such as Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi, Makassar, Balikpapan, Banjarmasin, Denpasar, Yogyakarta and Bandung.
XL Group Head Corporate Communication Axiata Tri Wahyuningsih said the need for a super fast and stable internet at affordable prices is the main motivation for customers to subscribe to XL HOME fiber optic. (This package offers internet speeds of up to 100 megabytes per second (Mbps) at a price of IDR 349,000 per month.) She revealed that the Covid-19 pandemic has had an effect on increasing XL HOME internet demand - given that the public is encouraged to work, study and worship at home which increases the need for a robust and trustworthy internet. And as the demand for data has increased, XL Axiata's revenue has also grown 10% in the first half of 2020
XL Axiata has added XL HOME service areas in West Java (Bandung), East Java (Surabaya, Malang, Gresik, Sidoarjo) and Medan. "Apart from adding new cities, we are also expanding the existing service areas or those that we have reached for a long time," said Ayu.
In the future, XL Axiata will continue to develop the service area and quality of XL HOME products to meet customer needs. "We believe that in entering this new habitual adaptation era, the need for super fast and stable home internet will continue to increase along with communication behaviour, whether for work, study or enjoyment of entertainment which will be increasingly seen by the public," said Ayu.
