A jointly deployed solution will enable the greenfield operator to excel at customer service and roll out new service offerings and develop new revenue streams

Helsinki – 3rd February 2022 - Qvantel and Nokia today announced that the companies have been selected by Rock Connect to deploy cloud-native monetization and Digital BSS solution to support the Jamaican operator’s service launch and digital-first strategy, providing the flexibility and scalability needed for rapid growth.

The solution will include Qvantel Flex BSS, which covers commercial product catalog, digital and assisted sales channels, order management, customer care 360 tools as well as billing and reporting. Using a no-code approach and visual tools Qvantel Flex BSS enables new offers and processes to be developed by the operator which radically cuts time to market when compared to the traditional approach to BSS.

Nokia will round out the fully integrated solution by supplying their cloud-native monetization system, Nokia Converged Charging (NCC). This also uses a no-code approach and features a user-friendly interface using predefined building blocks and natural language statements to create new pricing and market offers in real-time. Nokia will enable configuration, charging, policy, rating, service orchestration and management of services.

The jointly deployed solution will empower Rock Connect to evolve with customer demands and monetize any service that can be measured, quickly unlocking new revenue streams for the operator, such as prepaid and postpaid wireless broadband service, as the greenfield operator enters the Jamaican market.

Bruce Bowen, Executive Chairman of Rock Connect, said: “Rock Connect continues to lay the foundation of a reliable and advanced network, with the ability to rapidly deploy new services. We are focused on excelling at customer service. With an agile response to customer demands, we can provide data solutions and new opportunities to empower Jamaicans.”

Niilo Neuvo, CTO at Qvantel, said: “Together with Nokia, we will provide a platform that will give Rock Connect a powerful digital business platform that really brings a new approach to monetization and BSS. It puts telcos in control of their business and enables new levels of business agility.”

Hamdy Farid, SVP Business Applications, Cloud and Network Services, Nokia, said: “Following this deployment, Rock Connect will possess the power and flexibility to rapidly deploy and support new, innovative offerings in real-time and meet ever-evolving customer demands and priorities.”
